Adult Literacy/High School Diploma
The Palo Alto adult School is an authorized testing agency for the General Education Development test, or GED. This test is recognized as a High School Equivalency Certificate throughout the United States. Anyone over 18 years of age who is not currently enrolled in high school and does not have a high school diploma is eligible to take the test. Tests are given on Thursdays from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. by appointment for a fee of $100. For more information, call (650)-329-3752. For GED preparation classes we recommend Mountain View Los Altos Adult School or Sequoia Adult School. Courses are also available online.
Online registration is not available for G.E.D. testing. You must come in to the office to register, show indentification and pay the fee in order to make a testing appointment.
