Chakras, when balanced, increase the flow of energy and vitality in the body. Each class will begin with a meditation and visualization technique, then we will focus on one chakra each week using music and movement to release stress, open our chakras and feel our aliveness and power. No class April 14.

hikersEnjoy the outdoors with a congenial group, while learning about natural and local history. An organizational meeting is held Wednesday, September 15, 7:30–8:30 p.m. at Palo Alto High School, Room 306. Hike locations are provided at the first class. Details will be emailed prior to each hike. Please supply your own gear and transportation to the meeting place. Dates may change to accommodate weather.

Improve coordination and fitness by learning to move more intelligently and with greater body awareness. Ms. Cosgrove, a Pilates and Feldenkrais Practitioner, leads you in a series of exercises that gently and effectively strengthen the "core" muscles of the abdomen and back while increasing mobility. Exercises are done on a floor mat. Please bring a foam or camping-style mat and/or a folded blanket.

Empower your physical, mental and emotional self with Chen style Taiji, widely acknowledged as the ancestor of all Tai-Chi styles. Take control of and regulate your energy levels and develop the body-mind connection. Increase your physical strength, flexibility and vitality. Gently stretch your body with yoga poses that cultivate balance, inner awareness and mobility; and release muscle tension in the lower back, neck and shoulders. Yoga mats preferred, but towels are acceptable. Instructor has a certificate from the Santa Cruz Institute of Yoga in Bombay, India.
