Career Training

The Career Technical Education or short-term vocational offerings include Healthcare Professional Training programs and Computer Training.

The Healthcare professional program is run in cooperation with Boston Reed College to offer vocational training for Clinical Medical Assistants, Pharmacy Technicians and Phlebotomists. In addition to classroom training, students are given real-life externship opportunities in the workforce. Upon graduation, students are prepared to apply for jobs in high demand in this area.

career planningWondering how to find passion and purpose in your life and work? Explore the hidden meanings behind the choices before you. We will use the classic What Color is Your Parachute? as a guide to give you direction in all of your pursuits. Please bring the following to the first class: One 1" or 2" binder, one 2-pocket folder with fasteners and one set of 4" x 6" cards. No class April 12.

Medical Training

CLINICAL MEDICAL ASSISTANT TRAINING PROGRAM

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN TRAINING PROGRAM

Assist the pharmacist with mixing and packaging prescriptions, referring clients to the pharmacist for counseling, inventory control and purchasing, as well as collecting payment and coordinating billing. Pharmacy Technicians are in demand in one of the fastest growing occupations in healthcare. Classroom: 182 hours. Externship: 120 hours. Program continues from the winter quarter. PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN TRAINING PROGRAM

phlebotomyStart a new career as a Phlebotomy Technician. This program provides a complete learning experience. Students will become proficient in venipunctures with syringe, vacutainer, butterfly and finger stick methods. Upon successful completion of training, the student will receive a certificate of completion and will become eligible for national certification. Classroom: 48 hours. Externship: 40 hours.
