Before taking the Birding Basics class at Palo Alto Adult School, I knew nothing about small local birds. Now I can identify quite a few! A colleague at work told me about the class. The class was great and I plan to join again next quarter." Sapna S.
Scientist
The Birding Basics class is very interesting and the field trips are fantastic. In class, I really enjoyed the discussion on wings. Since taking the class, I now can ID the birds in my yard. Anne Creevy's class is very special and I found Anne to be incredibly knowledgeable and a very talented communicator of that knowledge." Sylvia Kappelmann
Office worker
Since taking the Birding Basics class at the Palo Alto Adult School, I now use my binoculars more effectively and find myself looking more closely at birds. My confidence has definitely increased. I've already got two friends interested in taking the class! I told them that they will learn the basics of birding and the field trips are invaluable, putting into practice what you learn in class." Jaynie K.
I am British and my home is in London. I attended the Birding Basics class, which was informative, fun and attended by a great group of people. Our teacher was patient and knowledgeable—her enthusiasm infectious. I cannot believe my good fortune to have fallen in with such a great group that attended this class. Heather Starkey
The Birding classes with Bob Power (and an earlier one with Matthew Dodder) have opened up a whole world of natural history and environmental responsibility, linked both to class information AND to field trips. Bob Power’s Birding class was very valuable in developing my capacity to observe, identify and explain what I’m seeing to others. Mary Jane Parrine
Former Stanford curator, Romance Languages Collections
