You should come to the Beginning Watercolor class—it’s a delight! The class is very well run and Ms. Culpepper, the instructor, is very supportive. I am now designing birthday presents. Irwin Roth, Retired
The Knitting class was delightful. The instructor, Paula is patient, knowledgeable and approachable. I definitely plan to take this class again! Kristin Kerman
Paulina’s Acrylic/Oil Painting class— Try it, you’ll like it! It’s fun to have time to paint and get tons of positive feedback at the same time. Pauline is an encouraging teacher and makes each student feel that they are talented and capable of realizing their imagined images. Kathy Wright, Biochemist
I began taking Ikebana classes from Thahn Nguyen at PAAS in September 2006 and I am now in my 21st consecutive floral design class. Before taking the class, I'd had NO previous flower arranging classes, so my skills were very limited. Our family now enjoys beautifullydesigned fresh flowers in our home each week. As a professional photographer, my new skills have translated directly into my work. Applying many of the principles we use in Ikebana floral design to my picture making, editing, and custom photo bookmaking has also taken my professional skills as a photographer to a new level. One huge gift of this class is meeting NEW friends. It's very special to meet people who bring their unique backgrounds, yet share a common passion (floral design). The class is very welcoming to beginners as well as returning students. There are five levels of students in our class, and each of us takes home beautiful arrangements each week with the satisfaction of having created something amazing. Nadine Priestley, Professional photographer
When I started taking the Knitting class at the Palo Alto Adult School, I was a beginner knitter. I've now completed two hats that I absolutely love! I decided to tell all of my friends about the class so that they could join me and make it a fun and reoccurring "Mom's Night Out". I recruited several of my Preschool Family parent friends along with others and we are having a great time. Last quarter, I learned about a very useful knitting website to use as a resource for patterns and project ideas. This quarter, I'm working on my first sweater hoodie. Before taking this class, I would have never imagined that I would have the knitting skills to start such a project. Christine Hodson, PreSchool Family Alum
Kay Culpepper's Beginning Drawing class was a great change of pace from my work life. Kay could look at your work and immediately give you a pointer that improved your work. I learned a lot in a short amount of time. Molly T., Graduate Student
